Concession poster 2025
Every year CROW KpVV publishes an overview of the regional public transport concessions in the Netherlands, their duration and the concessionaires (public transport companies) in the form of a concession poster. The 2025 poster shows the same number of public transport concessions as in 2024, with two concessions switching carriers.
In Fryslân, the bus concession, including the buses on the Wadden Islands, has been transferred from Arriva to Q buzz after a long period of objection and appeal against the award. In Zuid-Holland, Arriva has also made way for Qbuzz with in the Zuid-Holland Noord concession. Due to the all-electric range, the concession has been immediately extended to a period of 13 years.
At the beginning of 2025, it will become clear who will take over bus transport from Connexxion (Transdev) in Zeeland in 2026: Arriva or EBS. The train concession Vechtdal lines and the bus concessions Oost-Brabant and Arnhem-Nijmegen Foodvalley will also be awarded in 2025. In 2024, it became clear that Arriva will remain the carrier in the Achterhoek-Rivierenland concession after December 2025. A tendering procedure is still underway for urban transport in Amsterdam. The Amsterdam Transport Authority hopes to award a new concession to the GVB in the spring of 2025.
